Seed Cleaning
We provide a variety of high capacity custom cleaning solutions for grains, seeds, and spices. These solutions include, but are not limited to, upgrading, exporting, and pedigree conditioning.
Seed Processing Equipment
Gravity Separator Table
The gravity table or air table separates product by its specific weight (ie: density). It consists of an adjustable air table that allows the operator to adjust the slope and air velocity of the table to produce the desired product separation. Most common use is to separate the lighter kernels, seeds, and other impurities from the heavier target product.
Air Screen Cleaner
The air screen cleaner separates the seed by it’s size and shape, commonly by width or thickness. It works by evenly feeding grain onto a screen while passing air through the feed to remove dust and light contaminants. The grain is vibrated across the multiple levels of screens such that the desired product remains on top, sifting, or falls through, scalping.
De-Awner
The de-awner helps polish seed by breaking up clumps and removing its awn or husk thus improving its bushel weight and allowing it to flow better. It passes the grain through a high speed specialized rotor with steel beaters which removes the awn by mechanical friction.
Indent Separator
The indent cylinder separates seeds by their length or roundness. It operates by passing seed through a rotating cylinder with customizable indents that pickup and pass the desired seed to an interior trough.
Colour Sorting Machine
A colour sorting machine uses a combination of optics and AI to separate the seed by colour and/or size. It operates by passing the seed through a bay with advance InGaAs and IR cameras to take pictures for a high performance computer to analyze based on the operators set criteria and removes the seed, metal or stone by using high speed pressurized air.
Destoner
The destoner removes heavy contaminants (stones, metal, etc.) from a lighter granular product (grain, beans, pulses, spices, etc.). It operates by feeding raw product onto a deck with evenly distributed pressurized air allowing the lighter material to float above the heavier contaminants. The deck vibrates making the heavy contaminants move to the stone outlet while the lighter material slides to the cleaned outlet.
Solutions
Grain Upgrading
Remove contaminants from your grain to meet a higher standard to win a contract or secure a better price at an elevator.
Pedigree Cleaning
Clean your pedigree seed to surpass it’s required standards.
Export Cleaning
Ensure your grain passes export standards when shipping to foreign countries.
World Class Performance
Soft Grain Handling
Grain is transported using a conveyor, bucket elevators, and vibrating trough to significantly reduce product damage. Highly beneficial for lentils and beans.

Seed Cleaning FAQ
How are seeds cleaned, conditioned, or upgraded?
Seeds are cleaned, conditioned, or upgraded using a variety of techniques and machinery. The oldest methods are to use screens, gravity tables, and indents to remove the undesirable contaminants. The newest and most advanced machinery is the colour sorter which adds a completely new level of accuracy to the seed cleaning process. The seed is ultimately made cleaner by making it more pure, keeping as much of the desired seed and as little as possible of everything else.
What is a seed cleaning facility?
A seed cleaning facility is a industrial plant that takes in product and passes it throught its machinery to be cleaned of its contaminants. A contaminant is anything the customer does not want in they’re product. This can include damaged seeds, weed seeds, dust, dirt, grains, metal, or other undesirables.
What are the steps in seed processing?
- pIdentify the product to be processed. Wheat, barley, oats, etc…
- Choose the desired standard to meet. Is it being upgraded, made to pedigree, or being exported?
- Determine the contaminants present within the product. Wild oats, dust, dirt, metal, etc.
- Pick the proper machinery to get the job done.
- Process the seed.
- Package and palletize if required
- Pickup/ship the seed.
